Reference¶
Reference describes the AWC machinery exactly as it is. These pages are dry, flat, and complete. Use them to look up a flag, a config key, a metric, an error code, or a wire format. For the reasoning behind any of it, see the explanation.
Command-line interface¶
- awcctl — the user CLI: snapshot, workspace, status.
- awcd — the host daemon.
- awc-control — the control plane.
- awc-worker — the background-job worker.
Configuration¶
- Configuration — layered
awcd.toml, every key and default. - Environment variables — every
AWC_*variable. - systemd units — unit files and capability boundaries.
APIs¶
- REST API (v1) — the public HTTPS JSON surface.
- gRPC services — the internal
HostServiceand control services.
Data¶
- Data model — identifiers, digests, object kinds, manifests.
- On-disk format — canonical encoding, CAS keys, paths.
- Database schema — PostgreSQL tables and constraints.
- Golden vectors — manifest format test vectors.
Operation¶
- Metrics — every metric and the core product ratios.
- Error codes — stable codes and CLI exit codes.
- Observability — health, readiness, audit, logs, tracing.
- Retention and garbage collection.
- Kernel compatibility — the certified host matrix.
- Limits and quotas — backpressure, DoS, and disk-pressure bounds.
